Speed of Life, Shifting Attitude, & Staying Present
Quote:
“Look how quickly yesterday and today, this morning and tonight, this year and next year, all pass by one after the other.” – Patrul Rinpoche
Reflection:
Is it Wednesday already? Wasn’t it just yesterday that I was excitedly heading into the weekend? When we take a moment to pause and look back at our lives, we recognize how fleeting time is. Hours turn into days, days into years, and years into decades, all seeming to pass by at a dizzying speed. Despite our best intentions, we often find ourselves distracted and caught up in the busyness of daily life, causing us to miss out on the simple joys and beauty of the present moment. We forget that each passing moment is unique and precious, and that we have the power to make the most of it.
Action:
Just for today, go about your day acknowledging its fleeting nature. Whether you are tackling a project at work, engaging in a personal errand, interacting with others, or enjoying a moment of solitude, recognize that each of these experiences is truly unique and transient. With this sense of urgency, choose to be more present today, so you give yourself the chance to live each moment a little more fully.
